WINNERS HALL OF FAME

Suzanne Whang 2004

It takes an exceptionally brave comedian to feature the following the joke in their act:

Question: "How do you know if a Korean has broken into your house?"

Answer: "Your dog is missing and your homework is done."

Behind the guise of her shocking alter ego Sung Hee Park, Suzanne Whang delivers this joke in the spirit of Andy Kaufman’s "Foreign Man" character. Her website describes her act as a "satire of racism in America, reminiscent of Archie Bunker's character in the phenomenal sitcom ‘All In The Family’." Dressed in traditional brocade clothing and speaking in a stereotypical Asian accent, Whang makes audiences howl with laughter at jokes that can be described as hilariously politically incorrect. It was this act that made Whang stand out from the crowd and become the first recipient of an Andy Award.

Whang has led an incredibly varied and interesting life according to her website and her IMDB profile. She has hosted House Hunters on the Home and Garden Network as well the spinoff series House Hunters International. She can currently be seen on GSN Live on the Game Show Network. Whang had a recurring role as Polly the spa worker on the TV show "Las Vegas." She holds a BA in psychology from Yale University and a Masters in cognitive psychology from Brown University. She is a student in the Beverly Hills Playhouse in the advanced and master classes. Whang has also written a book called "Suzanne Whang’s Guide to Happy Home Buying." She also enjoys rock climbing and has been bungee jumping, hang gliding and sky diving.
